TAYLORS Lakes teenager Campbell Bonello is well on his way to a career in show business.
The 12-year-old is a born performer with a talent for singing, acting and dancing on stage.
Campbell has taken acting classes since he was eight years old and has been dancing at Stage Door Entertainment Studio for almost two years.
He has also performed in a number of musicals including Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.
Now the talented teenager will take to the stage in a new theatre production of High School Musical later this month.
“I like being on stage. I get nervous a little bit but it’s really fun,” Campbell said.
He said he had always loved performing in front of others and was inspired by his family to take up acting and dancing lessons.
“My family has influenced me. They told me I should do it and I tried it and I really liked it,” he said.
The Grade Six student said his favourite role to play in a production is a character that is always outgoing and funny.
“It’s similar to my personality. I like to always be happy and make people laugh,” he said.
Campbell said he hopes to follow his dreams and pursue a career in musical theatre when he finishes school.
“I’d love to be in musicals because I get to sing, dance and act,” Campbell said.
“I just love being on stage.”
High School Musical is playing at St Martins Youth Theatre in South Yarra from Wednesday 24 October until Sunday 28 October.
