A LAST-minute decision to buy a Tattslotto ticket from a western suburbs shop changed the life of a $15 million jackpot winner last week.
The new multi-millionaire, who wished to remain unnamed, said she paid under $10 at the Milleara Mall Lotto in Keilor East to enter to the Super 7’s Oz Lotto draw last Wednesday.
“I’d heard that there was $30 million on offer in the draw but had forgotten to buy a ticket,” the woman said.
“I remembered when I went to the supermarket last night. I made it to the Tatts shop just in time to buy the last ticket before they shut the shop. It’s funny. The shop assistant who sold it to me told me that it was the ‘lucky last’ ticket.”
The woman, who only wanted to say she was aged in her 30s and lives in Melbourne, was one of the draw’s two national winners.
She said her priorities after the win would be buying property, travelling, sharing some of her money with family and making sound investments.
Owner of the Milleara Mall Lotto, Jovin Petrovksi, said after eight years in the business, he knew of no other customer who has experienced such a big win.
“I don’t know who it is, but I wish good luck to the person who won,” he said.
Mr Petrovski said his store had been fairly busy since the $15 million announcement, in what is usually a quite holiday period.
He said the previous winner’s record for his store was $1.38 million about five years ago, plus some other first division results.
The woman’s winning numbers were 38, 18, 7, 33, 37, 20 and 40, with supplementary numbers 30 and 14.
