Speeders nabbed

MEMBERS of Hobsons Bay Highway Patrol caught two speeding motorists in less than an hour last week. A 20-year-old Wyndham Vale man was intercepted by police in Kororoit Creek Road, Williamstown travelling at 124 kilometres per hour in a 70 kilometre per hour zone. He told police the reason he was speeding was because “he didn’t want his car to die”. The man lost his licence for 12 months and received a $597 fine and 8 demerit points. He also had his car impounded for 48 hours. Less than an hour later in Grieve Parade, Altona North, the same members of the Hobsons Bay Highway Patrol intercepted a 44-year-old Sunshine man travelling at 42 kilometres over the speed limit.
