HOBSONS Bay City Council has urged residents to branch out and become involved in Australia’s biggest community nature event on 31 July, National Tree Day.
Activities will take place at Truganina Park in Andrew Park Drive, Altona Meadows from 10am to 1pm.
Hobsons Bay Mayor Michael Raffoul said the day would include tree, grass and shrub planting, Waterwatch activities, a free barbecue lunch and ‘The Connies’ performing live.
“We are encouraging residents of all ages to get involved in National Tree Day,” he said.
“It’s easy, fun and a small investment of time for great environmental and community benefits.”
National Tree Day is organised by Planet Ark in partnership with Toyota and its Dealer network.
