SASH Boseovski is a man on a mission – to help boost business in Williamstown.
The local businessman was voted in as the new President of the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce last November, taking the reins from Michele Langlands.
Based in Williamstown and currently residing just outside Hobsons Bay, Sash knows all about local business, running two marketing companies and previously owning a juice bar and hair salon in the area.
“My focus is on truly helping businesses in Williamstown, setting foundations for the future and aggressively marketing which is what we’re trying to do,” he said.
Sash initially formed the Nelson Place traders, a leg of the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce.
“I wanted to promote what an amazing place Nelson Place is,” he said.
“It worked well but not well enough, I thought I could do so much more so I put my hand up.
“I feel like I have unfinished business and I would love to walk away knowing that I put something in place that’s going to benefit businesses down the track.”
Sash had nothing but praise for his predecessor who he claimed did a wonderful job considering the limited resources that she had.
“You have to remember that these roles are voluntary and that every minute takes away from your own business,” he said.
“Michele has been on the committee for as long as I’ve known her and she’s still part of it which is great, we can utilise her knowledge and move on from there.
“There are a lot of things that she’s done that no one is aware of.”
Sash attributes the Chamber’s members as one of their major strengths, however he is eager for more local traders to join.
“We have around 100 members but we’re looking to increase membership dramatically and my goal is to have 300 members by the end of the year.
“We’ve already taken positive steps but we need to move quickly.”
