Public housing on better footing

THE public housing waiting list across the North West is experiencing a decline.
The State Government released the December 2011 public waiting list figures last week, showing an overall fall of 115 applications for public housing in the North West.
Housing Minister Wendy Lovell said the State Government was taking a proactive approach to the issues affecting public housing.
“While there is still work to be done, changes to the management of the waiting list and a new approach to those who need help has seen the waiting list fall by 6.4 per cent from 41,212 to 38,566 since November 2010,” Ms Lovell said.
