BLOOD is thicker than water, so band together with your fellow Hobsons Bay residents and compete for the title of most generous suburb in the 2012 Melbourne Battle of the Burbs challenge.
Hobsons Bay Mayor Tony Briffa is encouraging the community to support the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and donate blood during the challenge from 19 March to 29 April.
“Giving blood is vital all year round but during the Battle of the Burbs there is an extra incentive of being recognised as a community that looks after others,” he said.
“Donating only takes an hour and can make a big difference to people who are sick or have been through trauma. Let’s all focus on the importance of life and saving lives.
“So roll up your sleeves and help Hobsons Bay triumph in a suburban battle of bloody proportions.”
