MOST mothers will tell you how hard it is to find time not just to exercise but get some ‘me time’.
But one personal trainer has figured a way to grant some local mums with both.
Personal trainer Leanne Vandeligt runs a special Gym Mums class from her home-based gym Seaside Fitness Studio.
Leanne said the classes differ from mums and bubs classes because they don’t involve working out with the child and allow the mother to focus completely on herself while a babysitter looks after the children just a few metres away.
Leanne said it’s so easy for mums to get depressed and exercise classes are a great way to get your “mojo” going.
“It’s a great meeting place, especially for new mums just getting into the swing of things, and for some of us not so new mums trying to get our mojo back,” she said.
“It’s good to have a chat and a laugh while you are getting back into an exercise routine.”
Leanne said she came up with the idea when she hired a babysitter to look after her own children while she ran other classes.
“The children love it,” she said.
“The kids can’t wait to get there to play.”
