THE Hobsons Bay Yarraville Junior Chess Club is holding the first of its monthly Rookie Cup tournaments for 2012 on Saturday 19 May. The event begins at 10am with the first of five rounds of battle across the chessboard for boys and girls in the western suburbs up to the age of 18, including young Vishal Bhat from Point Cook. Organiser and junior coach at the club Peter Caissa, is calling on the next group of talented chess players in the West to take part.
