Riding to help conquer cancer

HUSBAND and wife, Greg and Julie Leitch will be taking part in the Ride to Conquer Cancer this October.
The duo, who have four children, are taking time out of their busy lives to fundraise, train and ultimately take part in the two-day, 700 kilometre ride through Victoria.
To take part, participants are required to raise a minimum of $2500 for the Peter Mac Foundation.
Together the couple have already raised more than $6000 but are hoping to raise even more.
Taking part in the ride has been particularly important for Julie, whose father is currently undergoing treatment at Peter Mac.
“That was the main reason I signed up,” she said.
The Seabrook resident said she’s looking forward to the challenge.
“It’s going to be gruelling but when you think about what people are going through it’s nothing in comparison,” she said.
Her husband Greg said he was keen to join his wife in the ride to show his support for the cause.
“It’s the least that I could do,” he said.
“We’ve been training as much as we can, but we need to do more.”
Julie agreed that it’s been difficult to find the time to train without their children who range from the ages of three to 11.
