TWO men are lucky to be alive after being involved in an accident in Williamstown last Wednesday morning.
A white van was travelling east on Chelmsford St when police allege the driver failed to give way at a give way sign on Churchill St and collided with the rear of a trailer being towed by an empty fuel tanker.
Despite the entire front of the van being demolished in the crash and the 18-year-old passenger being ejected from the van upon collision, the two occupants survived.
The 21-year-old driver, who only had his licence for two weeks, has received an infringement notice while the passenger received a fine for failing to wear a seatbelt.
