Guns, drugs seized

POLICE from Altona North allegedly discovered weapons, drugs, cash and fake firearms when they raided homes in Hoppers Crossing and Werribee last Wednesday.
The Altona North Divisional Response Unit executed search warrants at premises in Kathleen Crescent, Hoppers Crossing and Hogan Grove, Werribee resulting in the arrest of two men.
Police allegedly recovered drugs, cash, a firearm and two imitation firearms at the Hoppers Crossing address.
A $10,000 trail bike was also seized at the property.
In Werribee the investigators allegedly located methylamphetamine, property believed to be the proceeds of crime and parts of a firearm.

Two men were remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last Thursday morning.

Both men were charged with trafficking methylamphetamine, firearms offences, possessing cannabis and conspiring to traffick methylamphetamine.

Altona North Divisional Response Unit Sergeant Greg Teesdale said the arrests were a good result following an operation which had been running for several months.
Sgt Teesdale said operations were ongoing to minimise drug use in the community.
