MELBOURNE’S premier queer celebration is coming to Altona and Williamstown with a host of events expected to entertain and delight.
For the fourth year, Hobsons Bay City Council will be a major government partner of Midsumma, Victoria’s premier gay and lesbian arts and cultural festival.
As part of the festival the council will host GOWEST – a series of events that are expected to attract visitors from across Melbourne’s West and beyond.
Nineteen local events will be held from 13 January to 3 February, in partnership with Brimbank, Maribyrnong and Wyndham.
Ghost tours of Altona and Williamstown will be held as part of the festival.
Hobsons Bay Youth Services and Hobsons Bay Libraries will host a wellbeing workshop that includes a day of pampering fun for youths to celebrate and encourage the celebration of young people.
Other events include a writing workshop, exhibition of Australian artists who explore the phenomenon of Queer and a free sailing day.
