ZIGGY Clements is known as a triple threat in the performing arts world and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
The professional musical theatre performer, singer, dancer and actor is fresh from her latest national tour of the production “Motherhood the Musical” which she performed in on and off for two years.
The four-woman comedy musical in which Ms Clements played character “Brooke” has been in theatres right around Australia and had three seasons at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne and Sydney.
Along with her performing life she juggles her role as principal of Artz Collection performing arts school that has been in Spotswood for more than 12 years.
“It is hard work but it’s worth it, especially when the kids understand you’re part of the world they want to be a part of you’re a great example.”
Ms Clements’ professional career started at 16 and she has been a cast member of the Australian productions of the musicals “Mamma Mia” and “Les Miserables”.
“I think that performing and being on stage chooses you. And there’s nothing you can do once you have bug to get up there, you just have to do it or you’re not happy in yourself.”
“I couldn’t think of a life without performing.”
Ms Clements said it was a wonderful experience to be on stage with three other women and have a great script that “kept firing jokes”.
“It was great to be in a situation that brings women’s lives up on stage and the funniness of what women go through on a daily basis and hearing their joy seeing their life recreated.”
“When (an audience) is with you and you create that special moment and you know you have lifted them out of everyday life that’s a wonderful feeling, that’s a reward.”
