ALTONA has sent a timely reminder it will be tough to beat in the Premier Bowls after a crushing win over Bundoora in round one of finals action.
They may have finished the season just one-ladder position apart, however, the difference in standard between the third and fourth placed teams looked far greater as they took to the greens on Saturday.
The As were unstoppable and, led by skippers Brett Foley, David Zitter, Brad Peck and Brenton Coad, won all four rinks to seal the 98-57 win.
In other Premier Division finals results, in the battle between first and second, Melbourne booked its place in the grand final with an 86-73 win over Moonee Ponds.
The Melbourne side will now enjoy a week off while Moonee Ponds will play Altona for a spot in the grand final.
The two sides last played in round 13, with Moonee Ponds winning on that occasion 16-80 to 2-69.
