City vision through lense of youth

YOUNG people across Hobsons Bay will be arming themselves with their cameras and smart phones to capture unique images of their local area.
Now in its third year, the annual Pixel8 competition is open to anyone aged between 12 and 18 years who lives, works or studies in Hobsons Bay.
Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Angela Altair said the annual photo competition brings community harmony and wellbeing into clear focus.
“Pixel8 challenges young people to think outside the square and showcase how they see their local community,” Cr Altair said.
“This positive project supports art and culture in the west, and encourages creativity in young people, while promoting our great city.”
Hobsons Bay Inspector Richard Paterson said Pixel8 was a great opportunity for young people in Hobsons Bay to build awareness of what a great place Hobsons Bay is to live and work.
“I hope more young people will be interested and get involved. This is a great project and I encourage all young people to enter, regardless of their photographic skills.”
Entries close on Monday, 6 May. For more information visit www.pixel8photocomp.com.au or find the Pixel8 Photo Comp on Facebook.
