Boards gain voices of West

TWO of Hobsons Bay’s councillors will join peak body boards, representing local government and the people of the west.
Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Angela Altair was elected to the board of the Municipal Association of Victoria and Deputy Mayor Councillor Luba Grigorovitch has been re-elected to the Victorian Local Governance Association’s Board for another term.
Cr Altair said she nominated to join the MAV Board to offer a fresh voice and represent the Metro West region.
“With 14 years’ service as a councillor and two terms as mayor, I bring a deep knowledge of the issues facing our region and sector, including planning, unrestrained growth, public transport, superannuation shortfalls and cost shifting,” Cr Altair said.
Cr Altair is one of 12 local government representatives on the MAV Board.
Cr Grigorovitch, who will serve her second term on the VLGA Board, said she re-nominated to continue to make an effective contribution.
Cr Grigorovitch is one of six councillors and two community leaders elected to the VLGA Board for a two-year term.
