ABOUT 50 residents from local retirement community The Village Williamstown will come together for a special Anzac Day ceremony on Thursday 25 April.
The Williamstown retirement village will hold a remembrance service for residents, family and friends, hosted by resident and returned serviceman Bill Woodburn.
“Each year the village celebrates the spirit of Anzac Day – it’s certainly an important day for our residents,” village manager Peter Mills said.
“Many of our residents either were part of the armed services or know someone who was, so Anzac Day is an important day of reflection for them but also for their friends, children, grandchildren and the wider public to understand their legacy.”
The service will incorporate traditional Anzac Day elements including playing a recording of The Last Post and raising of the flag.
It will take place outdoors and a morning tea will follow.
