RESIDENTS will be able to bag a bargain and SUPPORT a good cause when Queen of Peace, Parish Primary School hosts a monster garage sale.
The Altona Meadows School needs to raise $3000 so they can hire a landscape gardener to design an outdoor garden area for the kids.
Queen of Peace, Parish Primary School parents and friends’ association member Rosita Piccinelli said the students currently don’t have an area that they can just sit and enjoy.
“We don’t have a nice pleasant area at the moment so we thought we would just do it,” Mrs Piccinelli said.
She said the school does not have the money to fund the garden, so the parents’ association decided to step in and help out.
“The goods that we are selling are all donated by the parents of the school and the parish community,” Mrs Piccinelli said.
The goods have been collected since the start of the year for the sale and will include books for adults and kids, toys, kids clothing and home ware items from picture frame to vases.
There will be no electrical items.
“It will be a great help to achieve our goal,” Mrs Piccinelli said.
There will be a drawing competition on the day for primary school children with great prizes, and a sausage sizzle.
“I hope that people will support the school by participating in the drawing comp and buying something.”
“Once we have the money we will start with the project.”
The monster sale will be held at the school 62 Everingham Rd Altona Meadows, on Saturday 4 May from 9am to 4pm.
