Teens' lens captures culture

ALTONA Gate Shopping Centre together with Altona North police station and the Hobsons Bay Council will be showcasing the winning images from their recent PIXEL8 photographic project.
The Pixel 8 project invites young people aged between 12 and 18 to use photography as a form of creative expression.
The Pixel 8 Project encourages entrants to capture positive aspects of Hobsons Bay, through its people, cultural diversity and places, and look for obscure and unusual shots that distinctively represent the area.
A photo exhibition of these award-winning photos will be displayed at Altona Gate Shopping Centre from 7 to 21 June outside Kmart on Ground Level.
“We are thrilled to work with Altona North police station and Hobsons Bay Council to showcase the students work and promote the campaign,” retail marketing manager Kylie Robertson said.
