WILLIAMSTOWN residents are gearing up for the first Toddlers, Tweens and Teens festival next Sunday.
The new winter festival, held on the 23 June at Ferguson St between 10am-3pm, is expected to host over 1000 people, featuring many activities and events for young teens, tweens and toddlers.
Local and famous authors such as Andy Griffiths, Susannah McFarlane and Daniel Corcoran will give a reading at the festival, followed by a book signing in a local book store.
Over 40 animals are expected to be at the festivals petting zoo, there will also be a talent search called Willy’s Got Talent and various live dance performances, competitions and prizes.
Performances by Lifestyle for Kids, the Enormous Imagination Organisation, the Dream Academy and Melbourne’s leading dance performance School MDX will take place on the Werribee Kia stage.
Every child attending the festival will have the opportunity to enter the Design-a-bag competition held at the Star Light foundation Marquee.
There will also be princes, princesses and superheros roaming around the festival and the Melbourne Tigers Basketball Bus featuring games and prizes for kids.
President of the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Martin said it was fantastic that local business owners of Williamstown have joined together to create this child-friendly festival to enjoy Williamstown in the colder months.
“The Williamstown Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses of Williamstown to get involved in events to promote Williamstown as a fantastic place to live, shop and enjoy.”
Liaison officer Riley Hofer said the idea developed when local businesses and traders approached the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce to design a family-friendly event that will really entertain kids on a Sunday.
