THE Village Williamstown will be abuzz with activity when they hold their annual fair.
Now in its 16th year, the event is as old as the village itself and is bigger and better than ever.
In its early days the fair was organised to raise money for amenities around the village.
Today all proceeds still go back into the village via its social committee, which is also responsible for the organisation and running of the event.
The village community centre will be a trove of activity, with a number of stalls set up throughout the room.
A main attraction of the day will be the bric-a-brac market stalls that will feature a large variety of items for sale.
Organising member Jill Tucker said people could find some wonderful things like beautiful pieces of furniture, gorgeous ornaments, crystals, jewellery, pot plants and more.
There will also be Devonshire teas, a barbecue, cake store, book store, craft store and auction of valued items at the end of the day.
Mrs Tucker said the community was invited to stop by and peruse the market, grab a bite to eat or have a piece of delicious cake.
“It’s a coming together and gets everyone to congregate all at once,” she said. Another organising member, Vie Connell said it was just a fun day out.
All items that are not sold on the day are packed and donated to a local opportunity shop.
The fair will be held this Saturday 5 October from 10am to 2pm at The Village Williamstown, 1-49 Paas Place.
