WILLIAMSTOWN’S newest community market is on again offering its visitors a whimsical selection of craft, vintage, trash and treasure and memorabilia.
Vineyard Eclectic Market will be held on Saturday 12 October from 9am to 1pm at 57 Stevedore St, Williamstown.
Vicky Merritt is part of the Westgate Vineyard Church leadership team and organises and manages the event.
“We felt it would be a good thing to share our wonderful building and grounds with our local people,” she said.
Ms Merritt said the market was held for the first time last year and was such a success that it’s back again this year.
“We called it an eclectic market as we did not want to limit the stalls to one style.
“Each stall holder enjoyed being a part of our community for the day … we offered free tea and coffee and live music which was enjoyed by all.”
The market features trash and treasure as well as classic vintage and home-made craft products.
“Our building is so beautiful with all the original bluestone that we decided to add that vintage feel to the atmosphere by putting 50s aprons on our tea ladies and barbecue folk as well. Just for a bit of fun.”
The market offers around 35 indoor and outdoor stalls and a relaxed atmosphere with people encouraged to have a cuppa and listen to the live music from 11-12.
Ms Merritt encouraged people to stop by and find something unique or stock up for Christmas.
“This market is for all ages and just a little bit different, right in the heart of Williamstown.”
There will be a sausage sizzle and craft for the kids and a baby jumping castle for them to enjoy.
