POLICE are on the hunt for a “scruffy” looking man that allegedly assaulted a girl in Laverton North last month.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said a teenage girl was approached by an unknown man on 7 November.
“Detectives have been told that the 14-year-old girl was walking along Fitzroy Street near the freeway around 7.30am when she noticed a man get out of a faded red four door car,” the spokesperson said.
“A man approached the girl and took hold of her arm and spoke to her before she broke free from his hold and ran off.”
The man then got into his car and drove North along Fitzroy Street.
He was described as 45 to 50-years-old, Caucasian with fair skin, bald, with a brown or grey long beard and with a medium build.
He was wearing black sunglasses, a black leather jacket with front pockets, navy blue overalls with pockets on legs and had a scruffy appearance.
The female was not injured during the incident.
Police have released a face image of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
