TEMPERATURES soared last week as Melbourne experienced its first heatwave for the summer. The heat spell started last Monday and continued through to Friday with temperatures reaching up to a scorching 44 degrees. Beach-goers from near and far flocked to Hobsons Bay beaches and parks to embrace summers offerings. And Williamstown and Altona beach were the top hot spots for the hundreds of people, like three year old Tresor (pictured), trying to keep cool. Temperatures are expected to drop this week, welcoming a cool change. 112833 Picture: DAMJAN JANEVSKI
