WILLIAMSTOWN swimmer Anne Rossi knows that with hard work and perseverance, anything can be achieved.
The president of the Western Alligators trained for weeks on end to take part in the inaugural Top of the Bay swim challenge which comprised of Stonehenge Australia Day Swims, The Jalna Big Bay Swim and The Melbourne Swim Classic and the hard work paid off with Anne coming first in the female 35 to 45 category.
Anne told Star the swim series was challenging, but great fun at the same time.
“It was really challenging and not as comfortable as a normal swim, but it was great fun and a good feeling at the end,” she said.
“I was surprised by the outcome but very happy with the result.
“The series allows swimmers to swim somewhere that you would not normally swim and challenge themselves.”
And the mother-of-two said she hopes to compete in next year’s event.
“It’s great to be supporting local swimming clubs.”
The male 46 plus category was won by Mark Stone who travelled from Ocean Grove on each occasion to support the swims.
