AN impressive squad of 17 Port Macquarie High School athletes took the long trip to Kingscliff to represent the Lower North Coast at the North Coast Combined High Schools Athletics Carnival.
All students represented their school and zone with pride.
Port Macquarie High School featured in some great finishes on the day.
The best athlete on the day was Brianna Abel, who won the 13-girls’ long jump with a leap of 4.5 metres.
Next came Phoebe Rich, who was second in the 14-girls’ discus with a with a throw of 23.01m.
The Port High 14-girls’ also finished first in the 4x100m relay with a blistering time of 55.87.
The girls’ relay team consisted of Molly Higgins, Hayley Byrnes, Zoe Hayes and Eve Thomas.
They are now training hard to perfect their baton changes in preparation for the next event.
All these athletes will wear their North Coast uniform with pride in Sydney at the Combined High Schools athletics carnival in September.
