HOLOCAUST survivor Vera Neufeld will be the special guest at the Glasshouse’s July coffee morning.
Vera is a courageous individual who will share her family’s experience of survival during World War II.
She is one of the incredible individuals featured in Courage to Care, a travelling exhibition that aims to inform and educate Australians of the dangers of prejudice and discrimination. The Courage to Care program conveys a message of the importance of communal tolerance and living in harmony through the stories of individuals who have had the courage to care.
“My parents’ courage and wisdom saved my life, but many individual persons helped us when we were in need… I have always tried to remember that.
“My thank-you to them is doing something for someone else,” Vera said.
The Courage to Care exhibition will be on display in the Glasshouse Regional Gallery from Friday 18 July until Sunday 31 August (the gallery is closed on Mondays).
Exhibition tours are also available to the public every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays at 3pm or alternatively on Sundays at 11am (bookings are recommended).
The July coffee morning will be on Friday 25 July, 10am.
The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for Glasshouse Member – which includes morning tea.
Bookings are essential. Please drop into the Glasshouse, call 02 6581 8888 or visit www.glasshouse.org.au to book your ticket.
