Coal mining exposed

A GROUNDBREAKING documentary from Lock The Gate will be screened by Sustainable Living Armidale at its upcoming Thursday Forum on 3 October at Kent House.
Directed by filmmaker David Lowe from the Northern Rivers; Undermining Australia: Coal vs Communities tells the powerful story of Australians whose lives have been changed forever by coal mining.
This inspiring film exposes the human costs of coal mining – whole villages wiped off the map by open-cut coal mines, families suffering health impacts, local farming industries destroyed. Nevertheless, the film delivers a message of hope in documenting the courage of everyday Australians who have decided to take a stand to protect the country they love.
The documentary shows that when communities work together to protect their land and water resources from the mining giants they can succeed.
Undermining Australia will be showing on Thursday 3 October, at 7pm at Kent House (141 Faulkner St, opposite Central Park), light refreshments provided. All welcome, a gold coin donation to SLA would be appreciated.
