Seniors cash in

WAUCHOPE-based MP and deputy premier Andrew Stoner is encouraging Port Macquarie and Hastings residents to apply for grants for next year’s NSW Seniors Week.
Mr Stoner said Seniors Week, which starts on 15 March next year, was a great opportunity for the community to come together.
The Member for Oxley said the grants program helped ease the financial burden on event organisers.
“Local councils and community organisations can access seed funding to create and deliver events throughout NSW Seniors Week,” Mr Stoner said.
Minister for Ageing and Disability Services Andrew Constance said the State Government had allocated $200,000 for the 2014 program.
“By providing more organisations across NSW with funding, we will achieve greater reach and participation in NSW Seniors Week celebrations,” Mr Constance said.
There are two categories of funding for NSW Seniors Weeks projects: grants of up to $500; and grants of up $1000.
