Hitting the high notes

Anna Voshege - performing at Opera in the Hastings.

OPERA-LOVERS will get a chance to indulge in their passion in the flesh, so to speak, next Friday.
Cancer Council NSW is staging Opera in the Hastings at the Westport Club, featuring the talented soprano Anna Voshege from the Vienna Conservatorium.
At just 24, Anna already has a string of awards to her name, perhaps the most prestigious of these being the2013 Opera Scholar of the Year.
Recent performances include solos at Victoria’s prestigious Opera in the Market and Opera in the Alps events, where she also sang alongside greats such as Teddy Tahu Rhoads and Marina Prior.
Anna will sing a variety of opera classics such as Glitter and be Gay and Time to say Goodbye.
Also featuring on the night will be the talented Cantabile Choir of Hastings Choristers and 16-year-old up-and-coming local soprano Stella Hannock.
Cancer Council NSW’s Eliza Goding said they were very excited to be able to host these very talented women in a fund-raiser to raise money for the defeat of women’s cancers.
“We have two female sopranos both destined for amazing things,” Ms Goding said.
“Anna has agreed to perform for us before she jets back off to Vienna, where she will be undertaking a Masters of Solo Singing at Vienna Conservatorium.
“After this event, the next opportunity to see Anna Voshege in concert will probably be in a packed Sydney Opera House!”
The event will be held at Westport Club on Friday 13 June, 5.30pm for 6pm-7.30pm. Tickets are $40 and include pre-show finger food. To book phone the club on 6583 1499
