A RENOWNED baby expert will be sharing her tips on the secrets for happy babies at a free public talk on Friday next week, 18 July.
Dr Sarah Buckley, a GP, gentle-birth expert, mother of four and well-known writer, will share information and wisdom to help parents reclaim confidence and pleasure with their babies.
She will present scientific evidence, practical advice, anthropological and cross-cultural perspectives, and the latest findings on infant brain development in a supportive and digestible talk that will help parents understand:
* Why parenting begins before conception;
* How to have a happy baby in the womb;
* How birth choices and experiences can impact the baby;
* What newborns need and why;
* Gentle approaches to sleep;
* Mutual regulation, how mothers and babies are wired together.
The talk will be held at the UNSW Lecture Theatre at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital in Wrights Road, Port Macquarie, from 6.30-8.30pm.
