MODERN technology and better business practices have been the catalyst for the dissolution of the nearly 60-year-old old Lower North Coast District Bowling Association, which will finish on 30 June.
District clubs voted unanimously in March that a one-tier governance, instead of three, could handle the administration.
Administration will be handed over to the Zone 14 Bowling Association, which will use the latest internet, computer and telephone technologies to deliver fast, efficient and satisfactory results. The 14 clubs will be joining 13 from the Mid North Coast District in electing new officials in August, therefore starting a new era of zone administration.
On Friday 16 May the last official meeting and gathering of all the Lower North Coast District clubs will be held at the Port Panthers (Hibbard) Bowling Club in Port Macquarie, with a farewell celebration including a short meeting, a game of bowls, lunch and refreshments and some reminiscing.
