FUTSAL at Mid North Coast travelled to Coffs Harbour to play in the finals of the Northern New South Wales Premier League.
The men’s and the youth teams qualified for the semi-finals.
The men’s team was the first game for the day. The two goalkeepers, Tenzin and Matt, were sensational with timely saves. With nine minutes to go the whole game stepped up a gear. Mid Coast really pressed on the Grafton side and scored two goals to be level, but Grafton managed to score the winning goal and Mid Coast went down 6-5.
The youth side also played Grafton. Straight from kick-off the team played with great structure and patience and won 6-3 to be in the final.
In the final, the Far North Coast team played very organised rotation futsal, but the Mid Coast team were not fazed and went on to win the game.
Mid Coast player Brendan Badenoch won one of the two Gold Boot awards presented.
Mid Coast players are now looking forward to the northern NSW summer programs.
