THE Big Band Blast will be back again even bigger and better next year, organisers have promised.
The second annual Big Band Blast went off without a hitch recently, with an amazing array of performances staged over three days.
Big Band Blast president Rob Turner said the visiting musicians all had a fantastic time playing, as well as listening to some very high-quality music.
He said he and festival director/Australian jazz drumming legend John Morrison and the rest of the Big Band Blast team had already started planning for next year.
“We’re looking to get more people on board to help grow and promote this as an ongoing signature event for Port Macquarie,” he said.
Stand-out performers at the 2014 Blast included the Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra from New Zealand, and Ed Wilson of the Daly-Wilson Big Band fame.
