LOCAL orchestra Sinfonia is dedicating its June concert series to conductor James Hannah, who is retiring after eight years with Sinfonia’s baton.
The June series will give the orchestra the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and to applaud the musical abilities, drive and energy of James, who is now 81.
Sinfonia has become a leading example of just what local musicians along with the dedication and drive of other skilled volunteers can achieve together in locally delivering professional performances.
Winter Magic – a Musical Tribute will be staged at Port Macquarie on Sunday 15 June, at 2pm, in the Uniting Church. There will also be performances at Forster on Sunday 8 June and Taree on Saturday 14 June.
Tickets are available on www.sinfoniamnc.com and also some local outlets. Admission costs $25 for adults, $20 students/concessions and $15 for groups of 10 or more. Children under 16 are free.
