Schools take rugby test

ST Agnes Parish secondary schools in Port Macquarie are playing host to two visiting schoolboy rugby teams from England.
St Joseph’s Regional College is hosting the first XVIII from John Hampden Grammar, a selective state boys’ grammar school from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The touring party was due to arrive on Tuesday and play a Port Macquarie Combined Catholic Colleges team at the regional college oval yesterday.
MacKillop Senior College will host a second touring schoolboys rugby team from Dauntsey’s School, a co-educational independent day and boarding school in the village of West Lavington, Wiltshire. Several ex-students from MacKillop have completed gap-year placements at the school over the last 12 years.
The Port Macquarie Combined Catholic Colleges team will play Dauntsey’s School first XVIII at Stuart Park on Friday 1 August commencing at 7.30pm. This will be a feature match following the normal inter-school competition games.
After spending the weekend in Port Macquarie with local families the Dauntsey’s boys will be farewelled from MacKillop on Monday 4 August.
