CONTESTANTS in the Independent’s footy tipping competition were among those who shared a beer with NRL legend Nathan Hindmarsh on Friday.
Teale Bryan from the Telstra Business Centre in Port Macquarie organised a special meet-and-greet at the Black Duck Brewery on Friday afternoon, which included his own customers as well as those in the Independent foot-tipping competition, which he is sponsor of.
Hindmarsh chatted informally about football, patiently answering dozens of questions for over an hour about football and then signing Parramatta Eels shirts and memorabilia.
Questions included whether Parramatta would make the final eight this season – a call Hindmarsh said it was too early in the season to make.
Later in the day, he attended another meet-and-greet at the Port Macquarie Hotel.
Hindmarsh played 330 games for the Parramatta Eels between 1998 and 2012 and was the first player in NRL history to make over 10,000 tackles. He also played 23 tests for Australia and was International Forward of the Year in 2004.
