Touch competition for Murwillumbah

By TANIA PHILLIPS

MURWILLUMBAH Touch Football season is about to start again with a sign on night at Murwillumbah leagues club on Friday 6 September.
Junior sign-ons will be held from 4.30pm to 5.30pm while the seniors are from from 6pm to 7pm.
Organiser Mitch Alexander said all teams are urged to attend.
“With the competition growing each season, if you don’t nominate on sign on night your team might miss out,” he said.
“Juniors are played on a Friday night, while men’s, over-35 men’s and women’s on a Tuesday and mixed is played on a Thursday night.
“Any new players looking to get into a team are welcome to come along and we will do our best to get you into a team. Or if you think you’re playing days are over we are also looking for new referees.”
He said this season was a mixed competition and they were endeavouring to have two divisions.
“Division One will be for the competitive teams and Division Two for the social/family or developing teams,” Mitch said.
“Murwillumbah Touch is grateful for the sponsorship of McDonalds Restaurants, Murwillumbah IGA, Southern Cross Credit Union and Brothers Leagues Club.
