The not-for-profit pharmacy has been operating in the area for almost six years. The company is so highly regarded in the community that it has won the past three Melton Business Awards for best retail business and is hoping to win a fourth this year.
Retail co-ordinator Helen Powderly said the pharmacy worked hard to provide its customers with a service they could depend on, which was particularly important in the health industry.
Ms Powderly said the three pharmacists were constantly being trained, so they were better equipped to deal with the needs of clients and could offer advice or refer them to a doctor when necessary.
“We try to help the customers in any way we can,” she said.
“We’re very customer service orientated and we deal with all areas of the health industry.
“Winning the Melton Business Awards shows that we are doing the best we can and the community recognises that.”
Ms Powderly said all the money the large company, which has branches across Melbourne and country Victoria, makes goes into training for staff and opening other sites.
She said regular customers continued to come back because they knew the staff were always ready to help with any queries.
Nomination forms for the 2011 Powercor Melton Business Excellence Awards are available online at www.melton.vic.gov.au/business and will close on 25 February.
The awards will be presented at Witchmount Estate on Friday 29 April.
