JORDAN Rodrigues is a superstar in the making.
The talented Taylors Lakes resident can dance, sing, act, and is even a dab hand at cricket.
But it is his love of hip-hop that makes him stand out from the crowd.
You could almost say the 15-year-old was destined to become a dancer, after his parents met on the dance floor. As mum Lynda admits it’s in his blood and there’s no escaping it.
“The first time I knew he could dance was at two or three,” Mrs Rodrigues said.
There is a musical gene in the family, Tarah, Jordan’s older sister, is a dance instructor.
Jordan said his boyhood idol was Michael Jackson and as a youngster he tried to master all of the legend’s moves.
“Michael Jackson is one of a kind,” he said.
“He is inspirational as an entertainer and when I was younger I used to specialise in his style.”
But the Taylors Lakes Secondary College student has moved on, and has perfected styles like breakdancing, urban choreography, locking, popping and even crumping.
Now, he is inspired by performers like Usher and Chris Brown and has taken up singing lessons in the hope he will one day work in the music industry.
And while dancing comes naturally, Jordan still trains hard and has to juggle school work with rehearsals four or five nights a week at Urban Force Studios in Kealba.
