Ferstive spirit call for seniors

By NATALIE GALLENTI

MOVIES, arts and crafts, a dinner dance, leisure activities and a vitality expo are all on offer as part of this year’s Melton Seniors Festival.
Starting this Wednesday and ending on 13 October, the festival is a great way to meet new people and develop vital connections within the community and the area’s elder statesmen are being encouraged to take part in a myriad of activities.
The Melton Seniors Festival is held as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, which will feature over 1000 free or low-cost events across metropolitan and regional Victoria including concerts, exhibitions, tours and information sessions.
To help make the most of the festival, metropolitan trams, buses and trains will provide free transport to Victorian senior card holders between 6 and 13 October. This includes the V/Line service to Melton.
For more information and full details of all events being held during the festival, pick up a free program from the council’s civic centres, the Melton Visitor Information Centre or visit www.melton.vic.gov.au/seniorsfestival or www.facebook.com/meltonseniorsfestival2013 106533 Picture: DAMJAN JANEVSKI
