A DEER Park woman will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning, charged with intentionally causing serious injury, following the alleged serious assault of a two-year-old girl.
Footscray Sexual Offence and Child Investigation Team detectives charged the 25-year-old woman in the early hours of this morning.
Police were advised of the matter following the young girl, also from Deer Park, being taken to the Sunshine Hospital yesterday afternoon.
The child was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital yesterday where she remains with life threatening injuries.
