Space on track

CAR park spaces have increased at the Tottenham Railway Station in an effort to improve customer services.
As part of the State Government initiative to encourage commuters to park their cars and ride the train, the new addition to the station’s services has included a further 60 car parks.
Footscray MP Marsha Thomson welcomed the additional car parking.
“Tottenham is a really important station for commuters from Braybrook, Maidstone and parts of West Footscray and these additional car parks will make commuting to work more convenient for many people,” Ms Thomson said.
Minister for Public Transport Lynne Kosky said the program to increase parking aimed to improve access to public transport for people across Melbourne.
“The Government has recognised the high demand for extra parking not only at Tottenham, but at stations right across the rail network,” she said.
“The Government is delivering car parking that is free of charge and in close proximity to railway stations so people can park their cars and board a train, tram or bus to travel into the city or across suburbs.”
Work is also being carried out to increase car spaces at Pakenham, Cranbourne, Wattle Glen, Beaconsfield and Noble Park.
