KEILOR Primary School students swapped their pens for paintbrushes last week as the school held its annual art show.
The theme of this year’s show was ‘Around the World in 20 Grades’ to tie in with the Commonwealth Games and students spent months preparing their artwork which went on display last week.
Art teacher Bronwyn Grant said students really enjoyed sharing their work and were delighted when their parents got to see what they were doing at school.
“The students are totally into it,” Ms Grant said.
Ms Grant said art was a particularly important subject as it allowed youngsters to relax and take a break from the more stressful subjects.
“We even have music on in the background, to get the creative juices flowing.”
Georgia, 9, Emily, 7, and Luke, 12, were proud as punch when they were awarded the best artwork for their grades.
