THE body of a woman has been found in bushland at the Lerderderg State Forest.
Police believe the body, found last Thursday, is that of missing Newport woman Linda Stroud, who went missing on Tuesday 18 October.
The body was located north of Shaw’s Lake around 2.30pm, police have been searching the Blackwood area for the missing woman since her disappearance last month.
The 56-year-old was last seen at a Blackwood caravan park on Golden Point Road around 11am on Tuesday 18 October.
It is unknown at this stage what caused the woman’s death as investigations are ongoing.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
