Murder in Altona

HOBSONS Bay residents were given a treat last week with Doug Grant Reserve in Altona  Meadows transformed into a 1920s circus for the filming of a new ABC television series. The series, Miss Fisher’s Murder  Mysteries, is based on the best-selling Kerry Greenwood novels. The star of the series is lady sleuth, Phryne Fisher, to be played by Essie Davis, who sashays through the back lanes and jazz clubs of late 1920s Melbourne, fighting injustice with her pearl handled pistol and her dagger sharp wit.  The series will air on ABC1 next year.
