WHEN Allison Gatt walked out of the gates of St Albans Secondary College last week, she could still recall the first time she had walked through them as an eager Year 7 student.
Six years on the Year 12 student farewelled the school that has meant so much to her for so long and has been the place where she has forged so many lasting friendships.
Allison was among thousands of Brimbank students to say goodbye to secondary school last week and enjoy the celebrations of muck-up day ahead of a hectic and rigorous exam schedule.
The St Albans resident, who will sit her first exam this Thursday, admitted to experiencing a myriad of emotions on the last day of school.
“It was really emotional,” the 18-year-old said.
“The year has gone so quick.
“I’m a bit nervous, but at the same time very excited.”
However she admitted that until her final exam was complete, there will be many hours of studying before she could finally let her hair down and look back on a great year.
“I know after all the exams, it will be all over then.
“I think there will be a few tears over the next few weeks.”
And the talented teenager has big plans ahead of her. She is torn between a career in teaching or hospitality but is leaning towards the former.
“I think teaching would be very rewarding. I really enjoy spending time with children.”
VCE exams begin for students across the state this Thursday.
