AN OPPORTUNITY to experience a marine national park from a ranger’s point of view is available over the Easter break.
Residents are invited to join a marine ranger in discovering Port Phillip’s marine natural parks sanctuaries.
The Parks Victoria’s free Easter Discovery Program will feature multiple activities suitable for children or adults and runs from 3-8 April.
Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary, Beaumaris and the Jawbone Marine Sanctuary, Williamstown will host activities where program participants will be able to discover colourful marine life and take part in rock pool and beach combing activities.
The program will also provide a chance for residents to experience the outdoors during their Easter break.
Participants will be able to enjoy magnificent marine sanctuaries available at their doorstep and learn about the impacts of environmental change.
Parks Port Phillip Chief Ranger Craig Lupton said the Easter Discovery program is a great opportunity to see “what’s under the surface of a marine sanctuary up close and explore the many hidden wonders of our marine environment”.
There will also be Park Rangers available outside of activity times in the marine sanctuaries to answer any visitor enquiries.
A detailed program guide is available from the ‘What’s On’ page of Parks Victoria’s website. For more information call Parks Victoria on 13 1963.
