Jets bomb out

WESTERN Jets fell to their second successive TAC Cup loss against Gippsland Power at Morwell Football Ground on Sunday.
The Jets did not fire a shot in the clash and were thumped by 67 points, 15.9 (99) to 4.8 (32). In their worst performance of the season, the Jets were outclassed by the Power from start to finish. The Jets were held goalless in the first half and trailed by 46 points at the main break. By three-quarter-time, they had just one goal on the scoreboard.
Steve Kretiuk’s team managed three majors in the final term to add some respectability to the result, but the damage was done much earlier. The Jets, who have shown clear signs of improvement so far in 2011, are now in ninth spot with a 2-3 win-loss record.
Jack Charleston, Matthew Smith and Dylan Jones were named among the best for the Jets, who will next face Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday.
